The Incredible Unedible Egg

I've officially been blessed with a baby that has food allergies. I don't have them nor do the boys or the husband but Josslyn definitely cannot eat eggs anymore. I gave them to J&J when they were babies so I thought I could give it to Joss. Boy was I wrong. My poor baby girl puffed up like crazy. She had bumps all over her face. Eyes were sooo swollen and watery. I feel so guilty. I just didn't expect this to happen. I hope that she out grows this and can eat the incredible edible someday.

She is my happy girl. Always smiling no matter what.

I noticed it almost immediately after giving her a bite of my eggs. I gave her just a little bit of Benadryl, called the DR (only to be told a nurse would call me back, ugh) and then put her in the bath. This is my first experience with this in a child so I was running around like a crazy chicken. The nurse called me back and told me to just give her Benadryl. That made me feel better to know it was fixable without needing to rush her to the ER. She took a nap and her face went back to normal.

Not quite herself yet.

Poor baby! I am glad it cleared up quickly!

I have food allergies and thankfully my boys didn't inherit them...it's a pain!

Poor sweetie. She is soo adorable & who wouldn't be happy w/ that brother love she's got going on!

She should out grow them since she is so young. My daughter was lactose intolerant even through my milk! She couldn't handle any dairy but now she loves milk, cheese & yogurt although she's not a terrible huge ice cream fan.

Poor little girl! That would stink if she doesn't outgrow it... eggs are in so many things.

Awww, poor girl! If she keeps the allergy you will have to find a whole new way to bake! Good luck!

Don't you just wish you could take their pain! I have a kid allergic to a common medicine. Were we ever scared when they had to pull the crash cart out for them at the ER!

Just be glad to know. Have a great day!

I am so lucky that my children have never been allergic to any foods. Which is funny considering their grandmother is allergic to everything!

I have never dealt with food allergies either but I can imagine that it was quiet scary.
