Calling All MWAC-KIES

I've noticed A LOT of us mommy bloggers are also MWAC aka Moms with a Camera. Well have I got a site for you! Canon I Have Another?

I recently sold my Canon Rebel XTi and upgraded to a Canon 5D! I have to admit that shipping off that Rebel was bittersweet. I bought that camera with the inheritance my mom left me. It was her Mothers Day gift to me from beyond the grave. (Even though she was cremated and rests at the top of my closet...disturbing? I think so.) I know that it's in good hands, the camera that is. My good friend Tara bought it from me. I couldn't have sent it to a better person. I know she will take good care of it.

On to my 5D! Freakin' in LOVE. It's a weeeee bit heavy. That's alright though. I'm pretty buff. Here are some pics of it.




I just bought a new lens too. Should be here on Thursday. I'm excited. I don't have a zoom lens anymore because I sent it with the Rebel. I wanted to get the 24-70mm but I also wanted to order some MJC for Josslyn so I will wait on that so I can maybe get the Canon version instead of the Sigma. I might be dreaming, LOL, but ya never know.

I'm The Baby! I'm The Baby!

...And I'm having a helluva time letting go of the fact that my baby girl is growing up. She has already started to nurse less and less. I am hoping she will at least keep going 4 more months. She is up to 20lbs and probably should be out of the swing but I just can't help myself. She loves it, and I love her in it. We only use it for when we need her to just take a quick cat nap. We know the boys will never let her sleep for very long, LOL.


Baby steps. Baby steps. It's hard to believe she is my last little bundle of joy. Oh how I miss the newborn snuggle stage. The immobile stage. Soon giving kisses will be embarrassing and I will only be needed for clean laundry and something to eat. ::sniff sniff:: I can't wait for grandkids. Well, I can.

You Ask & I Answer

First off, thank you to everyone who left comments yesterday! Much appreciated. :-)

Second, I got a lot of comments asking what camera I used. The type of editing program I use. Am I available. OK, maybe not the latter, but just in case someone was wondering, No, I'm married! Anywho, I tried to reply to most everyone but a lot of you don't have reply to your email. So I couldn't answer you directly. I don't want you to think I'm ignoring you, so I decided to answer you right here. Hopefully you come back to read my answers.

Q: "What kind of Camera did you take these with?"

A: I took these pictures, as well as all my other ones so far, with a Canon Rebel XTi. I used my 50mm lens. I got a new camera, Canon 5D, that should be coming today, YAY!



Q: "What editing program do you use?"

A: I have Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop CS4, and Paint Shop Pro XI. I use Lightroom for about 20% of my editing and the other 80% is in PSP XI. I recommend PSP XI because it's a lot less complicated and a lot cheaper. PS CS4 is great but can be extremely complicated and overwhelming.

Wordless Wednesday - Flashless

So my new camera I just bought is a flashless one. Which means it's Au natural light for me. So since my camera is coming on Thursday I thought I should practice more manual, no flash, pictures. I took these yesterday evening at dusk.

Could It Be A Come Back?

Today everyone seems to be doing pretty well. I think I might be getting a cold but the littles are doing much better, and Justyn is in school. Could it be that we are finally all going to be healthy at the same time? I missed reading up on all my favorite blogs. I might spend tonight doing that. Last night I had all kids in bed by 8:15 and I was in bed by 10 which is unheard of for me. I guess the last month or so has really wore me out. I'm going to spend today disinfecting my house. Windows open and Lysol out. All sheets in the washer!!! I never want to be sick like this again. Well, I can see my blogging time is being cut short again. Josslyn is yelling at me and Jacob wants breakfast. Oh the joys of motherhood!

Just Me & The Littles

Rich had to go to Nebraska for training so it's just me and the kids this week. AAHHHHH! Just kidding. Luckily I have good kids that don't wear on my nerves too much. I just fixed up a gourmet dinner of chicken nuggets and tater tots. I know, I know...I should be on that Food Network. Anywho, since Rich isn't here for me to annoy, I did the next best thing...I annoyed the kids. Well, I annoyed the littles. Justyn was outside with his friends the whole day.

What I Want To Be When I Grow Up

It's no secret that I would LOVE to be a photographer. I'm just too scared to actually do it. Mainly afraid of criticism. Afraid people won't like my pictures. So, for now, I annoy my family by constantly having my camera in their face, LOL. Been a picture taking machine lately due to a photography class I'm taking. Not a real one, just an online course on how to make the most of your camera to achieve the pictures you want. I also got PhotoShop CS4 so I've been learning that also. Here are some recent pictures I took over the weekend of my little ones. They may not look irritated by me being all up in their business, but they are, LOL.

I'm taking a photography class online and have been instructed to take my camera with me everywhere...so the other night while giving Josslyn a bath, I had my camera and I took some shots of her.

RAW Photography

It's no secret I like taking pictures. I have no shame and will blast your email box to the
max with pictures of my kids. Why? Why not? They are beautiful children, who wouldn't want their email box full of pictures of them, says the proud mother?! Recently I have discovered RAW images.

Where have they been all my life?! I get so much more editing freedom! I have been having a blast taking pics of the kids the last few days.
